Effective date: March 18, 2026
Roster ("the App") is a personal dating organizer that lets you keep track of the people you're seeing, plan dates, and record notes. This policy explains what data the App handles and how it's stored.
Roster stores all data locally on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, cloud service, or third party. The App does not have a backend, does not use analytics services, and does not include advertising SDKs.
The types of information you can enter into the App include:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Profile details | Names, nicknames, age, gender, height, location, job |
| Contact info | Phone number, Instagram handle, Spotify profile |
| Photos | Profile pictures selected from your photo library or provided via URL |
| Date records | Date, time, venue, rating, personal notes |
| Personal notes | Likes, dislikes, quirks, history notes, free-text observations |
| Preferences | Dark mode setting |
All of this is stored using on-device storage (AsyncStorage and the app's local file directory). Photos you add are copied to the App's private document directory so they persist across sessions.
Roster does not share data with any third party. There are no analytics tools, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or third-party SDKs that collect user data integrated into the App.
The App uses Apple MapKit for venue search when planning dates. Search queries are processed by Apple's location services and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. No personal data from the App is sent along with these queries.
The App allows you to store information about other individuals (people you are dating or have dated). This information is entered by you, stored only on your device, and is not accessible to anyone else through the App.
You are responsible for how you collect and use personal information about other people. We encourage you to be respectful of others' privacy and to comply with applicable laws in your jurisdiction regarding the storage of personal data about other individuals.
If you choose to add a profile photo for someone, the App will request permission to access your photo library. This access is used solely to let you select an image. The selected photo is copied to the App's private storage on your device. The App does not access your full photo library, upload photos, or share them externally.
The App uses location search to help you find venues when planning a date. This feature sends your search query to Apple's MapKit service to return location results. The App does not track, store, or transmit your real-time geographic location.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times.
You can delete any individual person's profile and their associated date records from within the App. You can also delete the App entirely, which removes all stored data including photos, profiles, and date records. There is no backup, cloud copy, or residual data stored elsewhere.
Roster is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this same URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
